Comparison Shopping Engines
Should you include Comparison Shopping Engines (CSE) as a part of your Pay-Per-Click (PPC) mix?
by Armen Mardirousi
Comparison Shopping Engines (CSE) are search engines for products. Some CSEs (like Yahoo! Shopping) rank search results based on the merchant's bids. Others rank search results based on relevancy and popularity. They all work on a PPC (Pay-Per-Click) basis. When a searcher clicks on a product in the search results, the merchant is charged and the user is taken to the product's page on the merchant's Website.
With CSEs, traffic is usually better qualified versus traditional PPC. The user clicking on the CSE link is usually further along in the buying process and is closer to making a purchase.
